The Govt. of Tamilnadu state has also started the digitization of Land Records of the state like the other states of India. They are using a website for this purpose which is designed by NIC (National Informatics Center). All the work is totally computerized. This website is made in a form that every person can easily get Land Records and Owners details. Citizens can visit the Official website of the Govt. to check the land records. In Tamilnadu this website is known as “Patta Chitta” People can view patta copy and a register extract for getting land in tamilnadu state.

At this site there are two registers – Chitta Register and A-Register. Chitta register contains all the information about the Owner name , relatives name and the relation between them.and a-Register contains all the detail about the land, survey no., subdivision no., land ownership type, Irrigation source, tax per hectare , soil type, land type , patta no. , extent no. and the area where the land is located.

How to view land Records Online

To view the TamilNadu Land records online , one should follow these steps:

* Firstly visit the official website (eservices.tn.gov.in) of tamilnadu land records authority.
* There are many options, you have to click on Patta /Chitta extract option
* a new page has opened, now here you have to give some details like village name/ district name , patta no. ,
survey no. and sub. division no.
* After filling all the details click on the submit option.
* You can check the land records of many districts like Chennai, Krishnagiri, Kanniyakumari, Thoothukkudi,
Namakkal, Pudukkottai, Nagapattinam, Dharmapuri, Ramanathapuram ,Kancheepuram, Vellore, Thiruvallur, Salem,
Viluppuram, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Cuddalore, Tiruppur, Tiruvannamalai, Thanjavur,
Erode, Dindigul, Virudhunagar,Sivaganga, Thiruvarur, Theni, Karur, Ariyalur, The Nilgiris and Perambalur
districts.
